Oak Park teen participates in prestigious math, science program

Benjamin Kiner, a 10th-grader at Oak Park High School, spent four weeks this summer enriching his mind exploring topics in mathematics and science that aren’t generally offered in high school.

Kiner participated in the Physics and Technology Center of the COSMOS Program at the University of California at Davis, a four-week summer residential program for top math and science students completing grades 9 to 12. The program let students take courses beyond the traditional high school math/science curriculum from distinguished university faculty.

Kiner was one of 154 students from across California selected to participate in the program at UC Davis.
