Tony Knight's 42 years in public education, most of them in Oak Park, will end next July.

Knight announced his retirement as superintendent of schools for the five-campus Oak Park Unified School District effective July 1, 2021. He became district leader 17 years ago.

Knight said the unprecedented challenge facing OPUSD in a pandemic year is not the reason for his retirement.
