Oak Park school tax too close to call

Two-thirds majority hasn’t been reached

The Measure A school tax renewal in Oak Park leads 1,660 to 896 with about 200 votes still to be counted, and its passage hangs in the balance.
The $197-a-year tax paid for by Oak Park property owners needs a two-thirds majority, or 66.67 percent, to pass. The yes votes are just under 65 percent currently.
Oak Park residents voted on Measure A in a mail-in ballot that closed on May 2. The final votes were expected to be counted by Wednesday, just after press time.
