Oak Park foundation awards Girl Scout grant

The Community Foundation for Oak Park (CFFOP) has awarded a grant of $150 to Girl Scout Troop 218 to assist the troop in carrying out its activities in the area.

Members of the troop annually participate in the September Coastal Cleanup, the Conejo Valley Days Parade, holiday caroling, as well as the Brookside Elementary School Girl Scout Toy Drive. This year, they also assisted in the Great Race of Agoura.

The troop requested the grant to help offset expenses needed to sponsor an original member of the troop whose family was unable to afford the costs of participation this year. The Foundation Grants Committee and Board of Directors agreed with the grant based on the benefits of these activities to the community of Oak Park.

Other Oak Park entities meeting established criteria may apply for Foundation grants by reviewing the CFFOP Website and filing a grant application. The Website is at http://www.vcnet.com/~cffop/. For more information, please call David Ross, the Foundation’s president, at (818) 889-7078.
