Newbury Park resident takes reins as director for Jewish center

Valley Jewish Community Center has hired Jeff Rubin as the new executive director of the Woodland Hills organization.

Rubin, who grew up in the San Fernando Valley and is a graduate of El Camino Real High School and Cal State Northridge, spent the past 25 years working in park and recreation for city government.

He is a resident of Newbury Park.

“Jeff is highly skilled in his field and his passion has always been to make a difference in community and to improve the quality of life of the people he serves,” said Oliver Haas, VJCC board president.

“I am honored to have been named the new executive director for Valley Jewish Community Center and look forward to working with the Community and building something very special,” Rubin said.

More than 300 members gather weekly at the center to participate in youth, adult and healthy lifestyle programs.

Los Angeles has the second largest Jewish population in the United States.
