New members on Senior Legislature

Westlake Village resident Tony Gitt and Karen Gorback from Thousand Oaks were recently sworn in to the California Senior Legislature at the State Capitol in Sacramento.

Gitt is serving on the state and local Government Policy Committee of the CSL Assembly while Gorback serves on the Social and Community Policy Committee of the CSL Senate.

Both Gitt and Gorback are members of the Advisory Council of the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging as well as the Thousand Oaks Council on Aging.

Gitt, a retired aerospace program manager, is chairperson of the Conejo Valley Unified School District Measure I Bond Oversight Committee and is a founding board member and serves as treasurer of the Conejo Valley Village, a nonprofit that helps older adults age in place while remaining active in the community.

Gorback is a retired community college dean and writer. She teaches writing classes at Conejo Valley Adult School and lectures on topics related to writing throughout Southern California.

The CSL is a nonpartisan, stand-alone state agency that enhances the quality of life for older Californians, individuals with disabilities, and their families by developing legislative priorities.
