The Conejo Valley Chapter of the National Charity League (NCL) introduced its 2005 debutantes as part of its annual new member and debutante announcement tea on Sun., May 22 at Sherwood Country Club. The tea recognized the debutantes and the senior ticktockers who have contributed more than 7,000 collective hours during their six-year membership in NCL. Incoming ticktockers and their mothers were also presented.

National Charity League is a nonprofit, mother-daughter organization supporting community agencies and charity organizations. The Conejo Valley Chapter assists more than 20 philanthropies in this area.

It raises funds through its annual Antique Seminar fundraiser and its Thousand Oaks thrift shop, Fibber McGee’s Closet. The money is distributed to philanthropies and to college scholarships to worthy young women at each local high school.

Working together, mothers and daughters experience the rewards of volunteering their time and energy to help others. Girls typically enter the NCL program as seventh graders and continue through their senior year when they may choose to become a debutante.

This year’s 14 debutantes have made a large contribution to Conejo Valley. In celebration of their six years of service, they will be presented at the Conejo Valley Chapter’s National Charity League Ball in November at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza in Westlake Village.
