New councilman shares thoughts

This past Monday I was sworn in as the newest Agoura Hills City Councilmember. This culminated a campaign that began Labor Day weekend.

To the many residents and community members of Agoura Hills, I thank you for the opportunity during the past several months to meet and discuss the issues that are so important to us. Walking the neighborhoods daily was an informative and enjoyable experience.

These walks allowed me to meet the thoughtful, knowledgeable, involved residents who care deeply about preserving that which makes Agoura unique and makes us proud to call Agoura Hills our home. During the next four years I will work hard to participate in the process and work towards seeing our ideas and dreams transformed into reality.

To the members of my campaign committee, I am amazed at the dedication and personal time commitment you showed and am thankful for your guidance. Your efforts gave me the opportunity to reach for my goal of being able to give back to the community I love. I look forward to continuing in the months and years ahead what we started building together.

I am also overwhelmed with the outpouring of generosity and support given me during this election campaign. A broad base of community members contributed to my campaign. I know that your donation was an investment in our future. These funds were supplemented by contributions from business associates and colleagues and I thank you. You have given generously for no other reason that the reward of helping a friend you have known for many years and believe has the background, contacts and experience to address important issues, solve difficult problems and successfully implement new programs.

To all of those that participated in helping me realize a dream to help make Agoura Hills a better community and especially to those who worked endlessly toward that goal, I thank you.
