New board members to lead Cancer Fit nonprofit


Cancer Fit, a nonprofit that offers free exercise and wellness programs for cancer survivors in Southern California, recently welcomed the following new board members.

•Roya Alt. Alt serves as communications director of Children Mending Hearts, a Los Angeles-based arts education nonprofit. She is the former executive director of public relations for the City of Hope Cancer Center.

•Susan Corti. A cancer survivor, Corti is a marketing communications consultant and has served on several nonprofit and community boards, including Conejo Valley Triathlon Club and Camarillo YMCA. She provides personalized training as a triathlon and Ironman coach.

• Noemi Duran. Duran, named treasurer of the Cancer Fit board, works as a vice president for City National Bank in Oxnard. She was previously a business banking specialist at Wells Fargo and has held business development and finance positions at numerous financial institutions.

Duran is the mother of a childhood cancer survivor.

•Cody Thompson. Thompson is a doctoral student in global leadership and change at Pepperdine University. He coached Division I soccer for Pepperdine and Cal State Northridge.

Thompson holds a master’s degree in public administration with a focus in public sector management and leadership from CSUN.

Cancer Fit was founded in 2012 by Newbury Park husband and wife, Robb and Elle Bolton.
