New board for Leonis Adobe Museum

The Leonis Adobe Association announces the 2007-08 board of directors.

Don Adams, who has been with the organization for more than 30 years, has been reelected president.

Joining the board is Hidden Hills resident Michael Silberman, who will serve as vice president to replace Bob Gibbons, who will continue to serve as an adviser on special projects for the museum.

Also reelected to their positions was Ruth Abel as treasurer and Kathy Miller as secretary.

Ray Phillips, one of the founders of the Leonis Adobe Association, holds the position of president emeritus. Gary Standke and Camille Stoddard will also continue to serve on the board of directors.

Adams welcomed new member Michael Silberman.

“We’re thrilled that Michael is joining our board of dedicated individuals whose passion for the museum grows stronger with every year that they serve. Michael’s professionalism and enthusiasm will be an asset to the museum’s upcoming programs,” Adams said. “Our 2007-08 board will be a dynamic combination of veteran expertise and fresh perspective to interpret western history for today’s world.”

The Leonis Adobe Museum has been designated as Los Angeles City Cultural Landmark No. 1, an 1880s working ranch related to California’s yesteryears. The museum is in Old Town Calabasas at 23537 Calabasas Road.
