New app connects agency, citizens

Ventura County addresses issues, requests for service

The Ventura County Public Works Agency recently released an app to provide two-way communication between the agency and citizens, who will be able to better address service requests.

Titled VCPWA Connect!, the mobile device and web-based system streamlines how community members report issues within the unincorporated areas of the County of Ventura and also provides timely responses.

VCPWA Connect! will allow residents to report potholes, illegal dumping, flooding, landslides, water/wastewater issues or any other public works issue, or to submit a question or comment to any of its five departments: Central Services, Engineering Services, Transportation, Water and Sanitation, and Watershed Protection District.

Once an issue has been reported on the app, it will be routed to the proper department and tracked. It will also send an email to the person who is reporting the issue so they are notified of the solution in a timely manner.
