Native American celebration is this weekend





Mountains Restoration Trust will host a Native American Winter Solstice Celebration from noon to 5 p.m. Sat., Dec. 20 at Headwaters Corner, Old Topanga Canyon Road and Mulholland Highway in Calabasas.


The event will feature a blessing of the land by Charlie Cooke, Chumash hereditary chief, storyteller Harrison Lowe, a Navajo actor, plus Native American demonstration booths and more. Families are encouraged to attend and are welcome to bring a picnic basket.


Those planning to attend are asked to park at Calabasas High School, 22855 W. Mulholland Hwy., Calabasas to board a free shuttle to the event. Admission is $10.
