National Charity League introduces 2013 debs

The Conejo Valley chapter of the National Charity League introduced its 2013 debutantes as part of the group’s annual new member and debutante announcement tea on May 19 at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza in Thousand Oaks. National Charity League is a nonprofit, mother-daughter organization supporting local community agencies and charities.

The Conejo Valley chapter assists 13 philanthropies in the area. The chapter raises money through its annual Day of Giving fundraiser and the Thousand Oaks thrift shop, Fibber McGee’s Closet.

In addition, college scholarships are awarded to young women who are not NCL members at local high schools.

Working together, mothers and daughters experience the rewards of volunteering their time and energy to help others.

Girls typically enter the program as seventh-graders and continue through their senior year, when they may choose to become debutantes.
