Music center to host free ballet-themed events

The Music Center of Los Angeles County will host a special free Family Day for children and families from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sat., July 13 as part of the Center’s presentation of American Ballet Theatre’s production of "Le Corsaire (The Pirate)," before the 2 p.m. matinee performance of the ballet that day in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, 135 N. The Music Center Family Day will turn the plaza into a showcase for the magic of classical dance including performance demonstrations by professional and student dancers, workshops about the basic elements of ballet, storytelling and hands-on art-making activities tied to the swashbuckling themes of "Le Corsaire."

Tickets for the performance range in price from $20 to $90 and are available at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion box office. For more information, please call Ann Bradley at (213) 202-2235 or visit the Website at www.musiccenter.org.
