NO STATE OVERSIGHT—Last month the U.S. Department of Energy announced plans to demolish 13 of the remaining 18 buildings on its 400-acre portion of the Santa Susana Field Lab, a former rocket engine and nuclear energy testing site in the hills between the Simi and San Fernando valleys.
