The Midnight Winds, a woodwind quintet, will perform at the Los Angeles Shakespeare Company’s Sunday Salons at Two at 2 p.m. Sun., Nov. 18 at The Globe in Topanga, 1909 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd., Topanga.
The quintet features musicians Amy Tatum, flute; Alison Lowell, oboe; Andrew Leonard, clarinet; Maciej Flis, bassoon; and Kristina Orcutt, French horn.
The award-winning ensemble will perform a repertoire that includes “Aires Tropicales” by Cuban clarinetist and saxophonist Paquito D’Rivera; “La Nouvelle Orleans,” in the style of New Orleans jazz by Lalo Schifrin (composer of “Mission Impossible” TV theme song); a classical piece by Joseph Haydn; “Scherzo,” a classical work by French composer Eugene Bozza; and “Kilar Quintet,” a Polish piece by Midnight Winds member Flis.
Individually, the musicians of Midnight Winds maintain careers as orchestral and freelance musicians.
