toy drive

Jerica Ladin, a seventh grader at Lindero Canyon Middle School in Agoura Hills, is conducting a toy drive for young patients at Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles. She was inspired to help after a visit to the hospital to see a family friend.

The toy drive is Jerica’s Mitzvah ("good deed") project in connection with her observance of her Bat Mitzvah on April 27.

"Every child who has been at Children’s Hospital a week receives a toy that is his/hers to keep.

In addition, a child may also receive a toy if he/she is going to have a painful procedure, an operation, a birthday or perhaps they have no toys from home," according to Jerica.

The community is invited to help Jerica brighten a child’s life by donating a new, unwrapped toy. Toys may be dropped off from 9 a.m. to noon on April 13 at 29550 Woodbrook Drive, Agoura Hills, or may be dropped off during business hours in the box she has set up at Curves for Women, 30831 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Westlake Village. Jerica intends to deliver the toys to the hospital by April 15.
