Merchants warned about bad checks during holiday season

Dishonest people will be bouncing checks during the holidays, according to officials with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
Hundreds of thousands of bad checks are passed in L.A. County every year, officials said, and more of them are written during the holiday season than at any time. Most offenders, according to the D.A.’s office, are honest people caught up in the excitement of buying for others.
