Meet two new members of the family



P-78Just in time for the New Year, officials from the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area announced their ongoing study of mountain lions had received the gift of two newcomers.
The two male mountain lions, dubbed P-78 and P-79, were spotted and captured early in December, becoming the 13th and 14th animals in the 17-year study.
A statement from National Park Service spokesperson Ana Beatriz said P-78 was captured on Dec. 11 in the central portion of the Santa Monica Mountains.
