The Humane Society of Ventura County will celebrate its 87 years of nonprofit service to local animals with an open house and birthday bash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., June 8, at its Ojai shelter facility, 402 Bryant St.
Guests can get a behind-the-scenes peek at the facility, participate in the barking or meowing contest, tour the kennels, meet the staff and learn about volunteer opportunities.
