Meditation for peace of mind, comfort


American Buddhist monk Gen Kelsang Rigpa will give a lecture on Detox The Mind: Meditations for Mental and Physical Well- Being from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sat., Jan 25 at the Scherr Forum, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks.

During the special event, Rigpa will explain how to identify painful mental states such as anger, anxiety, stress and depression and use ancient meditation techniques to reduce and remove them.

Rigpa has been studying and practicing Buddhist meditation for almost two decades. Based in Hollywood, Rigpa also teaches classes, workshops and retreats all over the world.

Tushita Kadampa Buddhist Center, a nonprofit organization based in Westlake Village, is hosting the event.

The center was recently recognized for providing a valuable spiritual program to the community by The Westlake Village Award Program and received Best of Business Buddhist Meditation Center Award.
