Mayoral move deemed vindictive

I am sorry to say I live in the city of Westlake Village. I can’t believe the council members would be so vindictive as to break the 25-year tradition of the mayor pro tem becoming the new mayor.

It was very clear that Jim Bruno was targeted last night because he was on the side of the will of the people. He was the only council member that was there for the people who elected him, as he should. But as they say, no good deed goes unpunished.

I felt so sad for Jim’s family as they silently wept in the front row as the other coldhearted council members punished Jim.

The sheer humiliation they bestowed upon him should be a wake-up call to the 2,048 voters who voted no on Z, telling them that the other council members do not have our best interest at heart. They say they want unity but it’s obvious that they are the ones that can’t get over the fact they lost, fair and square.

We need to unite at the next election and make sure our voices are heard that we want people, like Jim Bruno, who actually care about what we the voters want. Cheryl Tabbi Westlake Village
