“What’s a Chassidic rabbi doing writing a book titled ‘The Joy of Intimacy’?”

This is asked by book reviewers and audiences of Rabbi Manis Friedman. His book on intimacy, love, sexuality and the hidden potential of marriage is said to challenge contemporary social norms while dispensing timeless advice.

Friedman will give a lecture titled “The Kabbalah and Comedy of Marriage and Intimacy: Ancient Wisdom to Transform Your Love Life” at 8 p.m. Thurs., Feb. 22 at the Leonard Bergstein Jewish Academy, 30347 Canwood St., Agoura Hills.

In his book, “The Joy of Intimacy: A Soulful Guide to Love, Sexuality, and Marriage,” Friedman shares real-life relationship issues of individuals and couples as well as the practical wisdom from Jewish tradition.

Over four decades, Friedman has helped thousands of families with his couples therapy based on the foundation of intimate connection.

The entrance fee for the event is $12 for advance purchase and $15 at the door.

Sponsorship of $72 includes two tickets to the lecture, Friedman’s autographed book and two VIP tickets to a Meet and Greet with the rabbi prior to the lecture.
