Marijuana plants found in Newbury Park

BUSTED—Law enforce ment officials remove over$1.5-million worth of mari juana plants from a ravinebordering the ArroyoConejo Creek in NewburyPark last Friday. The de struction of the 798 plantsmarks Ventura County’s firstlarge pot bust this year. Of ficers apprehended Ser vando Ponce Villa, 22, andbooked him on suspicion ofillegal cultivation of mari juana. They are still lookingfor a second suspect.
