Marianne Williamson to speak in T.O.


Best-selling author and speaker Marianne Williamson will be appearing at 1:30 p.m. on Sun., Sept. 8 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza in Thousand Oaks. Her topic is "9-11 One Year Later: Creating a World of Peace." Williamson has published seven books, three of which have reached No. 1 on the New York Times bestsellers list. They include, "A Return to Love," "Illuminata," "A Woman’s Worth" and "Healing the Soul of American." She also edited "Imagine: What America Could Be in the 21st Century," a compilation of essays by some of America’s most visionary thinkers.


Williamson lived in Santa Barbara for many years and in 1989, she co-founded Project Angel Food, a meals-on-wheels program that serves homebound individuals in the Los Angeles area. Today, Project Angel Food serves over 1,000 people daily.


She also co-founded Global Renaissance Alliance, a worldwide network of peace circles committed to harnessing love as a force for good. Currently, Williamson is finishing up a new book to be published later this year.


Williamson’s talk is hosted by the Westlake Church of Religious Science.

Tickets are $40, $50 and $65. A reception with the author will be held at the Civic Arts Plaza prior to the event for $100, which includes priority event seating.
