Honda of Thousand Oaks vice president/general manager Scott Stanley recently presented a check for $7,500 to Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

The money was given on behalf of Jacquelyn Moss, mother of Taylor Marie Moss, a Newbury Park teen who was killed by a drunk driver.

On Nov. 1, 2009, Taylor was returning home after celebrating Halloween with two friends. She was driving on the 101 Freeway when her vehicle was struck by a 27-year-old man driving the wrong way; his blood-alcohol level was 0.08 percent. Taylor’s friends survived the crash.

MADD was founded in 1980 by a mother whose daughter was killed by a drunk driver. It is the nation’s largest nonprofit organization working to protect families from drunk driving andunderage drinking.
