Previously, Lowe’s had said it was aiming for a fourth-quarter opening in 2018.
Construction got underway late last year on the large vacant parcel off Wendy Drive north of the 101 Freeway. Since that time, crews have trucked in dirt to provide a foundation for the future retail center, which in addition to Lowe’s will include a 37,000-square-foot LA Fitness and space for two restaurants.
The property has been raised, making the work going on at the site barely visible from surrounding streets.
Once complete, the Lowe’s is expected to employ as many as 150 people, the company said. It will be Lowe’s 112th store in California.
