Love Run winners recognized


Senior Concerns and Ladin Subaru, title sponsor of the 2017 Love Run, recently co-hosted an awards ceremony to celebrate the following top teams and fundraisers from this year’s race, which netted a record $100,000 for the Meals on Wheels program.

Tuesday Tribe Training earned top fundraising honors for a team.

Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center won as the business that fielded the biggest team.

The fastest teams were Tuesday Tribe Training, New Basin Blues, Peek-A-Boo It’s Ladin Subaru and Los Robles Hospital.

The best-dressed team award went to 5 Loaves.

The Red Hot Chili Steppers netted the most creative team name award.

Stephanie Marlin was named the top individual fundraiser followed by Doreen Lynch, Jo Joshi, Deborah Nesbit, Erin Botsford, Joseph Hernandez and Stephanie Desautels.

Marlin was also named Love Run 2017 Ambassador of the Year. She formed two teams with a total of 144 runners that contributed over $6,700.

The funds raised by the Love Run are used to provide scholarships to low-income, homebound seniors unable to afford the daily fee to receive Meals on Wheels.

Senior Concerns delivers almost 30,000 meals to seniors in Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park.
