Love-hate relationship with the shopping mall

As the holidays approach, the retail experience is heating up and so are trips to the mall. Often we object when shopping centers are built on land we’d rather see left as open space—and we gnash our teeth at having to deal with the traffic and parking problems that accompany the holiday mall experience.
