In the communities patrolled by the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station, heroin is the least abused of the illegal narcotics, Lt. Steven Smith said.
According to Smith, most people apprehended for using or selling heroin locally are not residents of the community.
But narcotic trends ebb and flow, and the deputies remain on guard. They try to educate young people using the sheriff’s Juvenile Intervention Team.
Deputies also undergo frequent training regarding drug recognition and abuse.
