Los Robles Master Chorale will open its 24th season with "Resplendent Rutter," a performance featuring John Rutter’s "Requiem," at 8 p.m., Sat., Oct. 6 at the Performing Arts Center, Moorpark College and at 4 p.m., Sun., Oct. 7 at Ascension Lutheran Church, Thousand Oaks. The concert also features other secular and sacred music by England’s pre-eminent contemporary composer. The chorale will be joined by area church choirs.
A holiday program, "Amahl and the Night Visitors and Other Seasonal Sounds," will be presented at 8 p.m. Sat., Dec. 8 and 4 p.m., Sun., Dec. 9 at the Performing Arts Center, Moorpark College. In addition to Gian Carlo Menotti’s popular holiday opera, the program features Natalie Sleeth’s "Jazz Gloria," a candlelight "Silent Night" and other familiar favorites, and the Los Robles Children’s Choir.
