‘Lockup Event’ will take prisoners

The Muscular Dystrophy Association will "arrest" business and government officials from Westlake Village and Thousand Oaks on June 5 to 6 in their "Lockup Event" that raises funds for the organization.

Volunteers dressed as Keystone Cops from Knights of Columbus, Volunteers in Policing and Retired Senior Volunteer Program will arrest jailbirds at their place of business and transport them to Piatti Restaurant.

Jailbirds will include representatives from city and county government, legal offices, real estate offices, school districts, banks, insurance companies and more.

Those "arrested" will be provided a cell phone to raise their bail of $1,000 for their release. Friends, family and business associates "are all fair game for bail calls."

The bail money generated will raise thousands of dollars for the Mid-State Chapter of MDA. Funds will be used to support a comprehensive patient services program.
