Fashion stars of the future will shine on Sun., May 2 at Woodbury University’s "Gala 2004," featuring their 40th annual Fashion Show, presented by Woodbury’s Department of Fashion Design. It’s a showcase for the ideas and creations of the students.

Proceeds from the gala, which includes dinner and a silent auction at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, will provide scholarships for talented and deserving students, according to Calabasas resident Pat Spears, chair of the steering committee.

Barbara Sinatra, who will attend the event, is honorary chair.

A panel of fashion industry professionals and designers will select 150 outstanding garments for the show from more than 250 created and constructed by the students. The theme of the show is "From the Surf to the Stars: Image and Imagination in Southern California."

The reception and silent auction will begin at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and the fashion show at 6 p.m. For information and reservations, call the university at (818) 767-0888, ext. 213.
