Local teens take the spotlight in performance competition

After two rounds of virtual auditions, LA’s Music Center has selected 112 Southern California high school students as semifinalists in its 33rd annual Spotlight competition, a free arts training and scholarship program for teens.

Spotlight offers performance opportunities, audition experiences and mentoring, plus technical and artistic insights taught by professional artists and arts administrators.

The program awards more than $100,000 in scholarships each year.
