Local teen to star in ‘The Nutcracker’

The Pacific Festival Ballet, resident ballet company of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, celebrates the 16th anniversary of its performance of “The Nutcracker”—which includes snow falling on the audience—at 2 and 7 p.m. Sat., Dec. 19 and 2 and 6 p.m. Sun., Dec. 20 at the Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

Tina LeBlanc, formerly with San Francisco Ballet, will reprise her role of the Sugar Plum Fairy. New York City Ballet star Gonzalo Garcia will perform the role of the Cavalier.

Emma Dewing of California Dance Theatre in Agoura Hills will be performing the role of Clara on Sun., Dec. 20. Emma is a 15-yearold sophmore from the Oak Park High School Independent Study Program. She’s has been studying dance at California Dance Theatre in Agoura Hiils since she was 6. Emma will be dancing the Pas De Deux with guest artist spencer Gavin Hering.
