Car washes are not deemed an essential business during the pandemic. When the statewide stay-at-home order was issued in March, Southern California car wash magnate David Delrahim was faced with sending his employees to the unemployment line or continuing to pay them despite the closures.
Delrahim, who lives in Hidden Hills, operates 20 car washes across southern California and had to furlough 300 employees when his businesses closed.
