Library Friends receive $1,200

The Agoura Hills Car Wash donated $1,200 from a recent fundraiser to the Friends of the Agoura Hills Library.

The fundraiser was the third in a series of charity benefits hosted by the Canwood Street business. To date, the car wash fundraisers have contributed $10,000 to the library and local schools, according to David Delrahim, the owner.

The car wash will have another event to raise funds for the library on Oct. 21 and 22, Delrahim said.

Former mayor and city councilwoman Darlene McBane accepted the donation on behalf of the library group.

The library is part of the city’s new 34,000 square-foot civic center, currently under construction on Agoura Road.

The $8 million project, scheduled to open next year, will include a 17,000 square-foot library and a 17,000 square-foot city hall.
