Letters debate

The Acorn apparently printed a letter from a reader Chris Ashoff on March 14, which rankled letter writers John Boylan (March 21), Ryan Steers (March 28) and Jerry Neckanoff (April 4).

I can’t find my March 14 Acorn copy to read Ashoff’s offending letter, but don’t really need to.

The above letter writers are obvious progressives with a poor understanding of the First Amendment.

The Acorn does a fine job of screening and printing various voices of the community it serves. Letters to the editor are simply op-ed pieces by definition. Some are misinformed; some are spot on. The newspaper gets the call on what is appropriate to print.

Boylan, Steers and Neckanoff just don’t want to read what they disagree with politically.
