As voters weigh the different issues in the upcoming election for the Las Virgenes water board, I wanted to provide an alternate perspective on the various strengths that a candidate brings to the office.
A key ability for anyone in public office today must be the ability to work with other regional agencies for the betterment of their joint constituency. Barry Steinhardt has been a leader in collaborating with the Las Virgenes Unified School District for increased programming that both advances the mission of the water district while increasing offerings and resources for district students.
This type of joint effort is a model of what good public policy should be—two agencies serving the same community finding common ground that helps kids.
Mr. Steinhardt has demonstrated his leadership, ability and commitment to deliver on this goal.
Zimring is a former superintendent of Las Virgenes schools.
