A GROWING CONCERN—Figs are a staple in the school orchard, which includes about 20 fruit trees in all.

Lupin Hill, Round Meadow, Sumac, Willow, Chaparral and Mariposa elementary schools in the Las Virgenes district all have learning gardens, and soon A.C. Stelle Middle School will have a garden of its own.
