Some of the untold stories of early mountain settlers will be disclosed when the National Park Service features Prof. Patty Colman as part of its lecture series beginning at 2 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 11, at the National Park Service Center, 401 W. Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks.
Colman will talk about more than 800 men and women who received land patents and moved into the mountains, many whose lives and contributions have been left out of the pages of history books.
