Kate and Kiyomi for school board

As a former mayor of Agoura Hills, I have a unique perspective on leadership and community engagement in our local elections, including our Las Virgenes Unified School Board. With distance learning, a huge budget shortfall and nationwide calls for reform, transparency and inclusion in education, there could not be better candidates than Kiyomi Kowalski and Kate Vadehra.

Kiyomi has the necessary experience through her involvement on the district’s Curriculum Council, serving on PFCs, and on the committee for Measure V. As a law school graduate, she will bring a needed skill set as the district enters new territory in learning. Her breadth of endorsements show her ability to unite people and excite them in her candidacy, including your students’ teachers: the teachers of the Las Virgenes Educators Association. If you support diversity and inclusion in education, Kiyomi is clearly the number one choice.

She has a vision for education and students, and the personality and leadership skills to bring different people together to see it gets done. She is ready to help lead LVUSD meet today’s challenges.

She has proven her commitment to our school with her volunteerism and experience. Her perspective as an M.D. will clearly help us navigate the current crisis. I’m voting for Kate Vadehra and Kiyomi Kowalski with confidence in their ability to lead our schools.
