. Students get lesson in compassion

NO STOPPING HIM—Dr. Daniel Slaton, a veterinarian at Westlake Village Animal Hospital, shows Brookside Elementary School students that even though his dog, Onyx, has only three legs the condition doesn’t affect his ability to play fetch. Slaton and Onyk visited the school on Oct. 18 as part of Abilities Awareness Week.
Onyx, a feisty, 2-year-old black Labrador, provided some valuable lessons to students at Brookside Elementary School in Oak Park.
