Just the facts

There is not enough space in the entire Acorn to refute the anti-Obama rant by June Slayton in the Dec. 4 issue. It is the same old checklist of the factually untrue nonsense served up every day by the right-wing complex.

It has been said that democracy depends on an informed citizenry. We have been losing that for some time. When people can shut themselves off from real news sources so they can live off the lies and misinformation they get from Fox News and other vicious all-Obama-hateall the-time media hacks, it is no wonder they have no idea what’s really going on in the world.

Reality is reality, and it can’t be bent just to fit someone’s ideology.

Look at the other letters in The Acorn by people demanding that you stop publishing letters that they disagree with. If you confront them with truth they don’t like, they just dismiss it as being “biased,” and they shut their minds.

The ability of people today to live in a bubble of slanted predigested spew posing as “news,” knowing that they’ll never have to hear anything that doesn’t fit their own beliefs, makes me fear for American democracy.
