Joe Bowman endorsements

Bowman was appointed in 2002 to the board and has been twice elected since. I hope your husband is more honest with facts than you.

I have known Joe Bowman for almost 40 years. Bowman was part of the original development team that helped create Westlake Village including being the project manager for North Ranch. Westlake Village is one of, if not the most, successfully planned and developed communities in the country.

He also developed numerous communities in the Conejo Valley and Ventura County. Knowing water is essential in his field of work.

Joe Bowman was also a founding director of the Wellness Community and the first director of Homeaid, the charitable affiliate of the building industry association which helps develop transitional housing for families in need. He built the gym at Agoura High School twice; it was burned down the first time.

I have never known one person who has given more of himself to a community than Joe Bowman. The Las Virgenes water district needs people like him.

On Nov. 6, I am casting my vote for Joe Bowman to the Las Virgenes Municipal Water Dis- trict Board of Directors.

As California continues to face challenges in providing a reliable water supply for current and future residents, we are not without options. It’s incumbent upon us to elect qualified leaders with real experience and solutions to real problems.

In May, I received a letter from the LVMWD regarding the proposed 5-million-gallon water tank at the Las Virgenes Reservoir in Westlake Village.

I called on the water go-toguy, Joe Bowman, LVMWD director of Division 4, to explain to me the need and the financing mechanism for a 5-million-gallon potable water tank.

Joe informed me that, in part, the tank will bring storage levels in the west end of the district (Westlake Village and west Agoura Hills) to standards recommended by independent engineers and that it increases water storage by almost 70 percent to combat emergency conditions, such as inability to get water from Metropolitan Water District.

Joe further explained to me that the money for the tank is on hand and that the district has already set aside funds specifically for water system improvements that will pay for the project.

As a ratepayer in the LVMWD, I support a leader who is committed to providing residents with a reliable water supply. Joe has the knowledge and experience to continue to get the job done as he has in the past.

Vote for Joe—he knows water!
