It’s time that elected officials, bureaucrats start tightening their belts on taxes, fees



First we see in letters of the April 11 issue of The Acorn that the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District (LVMWD) has plans to raise the sewer charges on our water bill. The current charges equal 60 percent of my water bill, not to mention that we pay an annual tax to the county of L.A. for sewers.
Although Mr. Padgett, director of the LVMWD, does not say how much this increase will be, the L.A. County Department of Public Works does.
