Interference being called

Being Agoura Hills residents, my family and I are disappointed after reading the article this past week regarding approval of the three cell towers that will be erected at Lindero Middle School.

We live across the street from the middle school where we have a child enrolled. T-Mobil made their request for a city permit under very questionable circumstances. Our cellphone reception is fine being a (for now) T-Mobil customer in the neighborhood.

The real disappointment is the acceptance from Las Virgenes Unified School District to allow these towers to be located on school property, not to mention the possible health issues.

Without notification to surrounding neighborhoods and the families who attend the school, permits were submitted to the city for approval, obviously swayed by the payment of $60,000 per year for the school district.

The first meeting ended with Council being undecided and could not approve the permit with neighborhood and community people in attendance. Council asked T-Mobil to come back with additional surveys of other locations but only to hear the same two locations repeated at the next meeting.

I am also disappointed at the elected the officials for not standing up for the community and force this into further review by higher authorities and FCC officials.

We moved to Agoura to get away from the hustle and bustle of the so-called city life to the beautiful surrounding areas of Agoura Hills. It’s sad to see this so item easily passed, but not surprised to see the school district and elected officials selling out for the dollar rather than paying attention to the safety and welfare of the children and surrounding communities.
