The Humane Society of Ventura County is seeking donations for funds earmarked for special needs and programs.
All donations made to a specific fund are only used for those purposes.
The funds in need of donations are:
•Shep Fund for emergency treatment of animals: Owners can apply for help with medical bills for their pets.
•Cat Fund/Cat Haven: a two-room indoor/outdoor facility designed for cats living at the shelter, with beds, kitty condos, toys and access between the two rooms providing socialization with other felines.
•Mellow Education Fund: for educational supplies used in the Humane Society’s outreach programs to high schools and the community.
•Spay/Neuter Fund: for use by the general public when there is financial need for a cat or dog that must be spayed or neutered; includes procedures performed by veterinarians throughout the county.
•Sparky Fund for investigations of abuse, cruelty and neglect: Funds are available to pay for information leading to arrest and conviction.
•Building Fund: Contributions are used for the improvement of the shelter and kennels.
