Horse owners abandoning their animals because of recession



UNWANTED—Carol Holmes of White Cloud Ranch in rural Agoura says 27 horses have been abandoned on her property because owners can no longer afford to pay for upkeep.

Due to the downturn in the economy and an inability to pay for care and boarding, people are abandoning their horses in the hopes that others will care for them.
