Home Depot not all that bad

Home Depot not all that bad

I agree with Thom Bancroft (Letters, May 31). I am somewhat suspicious of the motivation behind the opposition to the Agoura Hills Home Depot.

We need to hear a balanced representation of the benefits and the drawbacks of this project. I don’t feel we are getting a balanced perspective from the Home Depot opponents.

It seems that a planned Home Depot development would replace some rather unsightly areas near the freeway instead of taking away open space. If so, this may actually enlarge (sic) our city image.

Would Home Depot bring significant tax revenue to the city? Would this project bring funding for the Kanan Road intersection improvement? If so, it may actually improve our traffic situation.

It seems that we need objective information and dialogue to get accurate answers to these questions. What I am hearing so far sounds more like scare tactics.
